May in Shizuoka, Alive with Numerous Events and the Scent of New Tea.
May is the busiest month of the year in Shizuoka, famous for its tea.
This is because it is the time when the first tea of the season, the “new tea,” is picked.
Tea is picked three times a year, and the first time is on May 2, 88 days after the traditional start of spring on February 4.
I’m Satoshi Nihonyanagi, a member of Shizuoka Prefectural Tourism Association.
I’ll introduce to you through this blog the charm of the picturesque world in Shizuoka such as the beauty of Mt.Fuji, special gourmet like Sushi, and various sightseeing spots that are all definitely exclusive and spectacular for tourists.
See you right now at Green Tea Club. ^^ v
