Iwamotoyama Park

The highlight of this natural park is the 193 meter high Mt. Iwamoto located in the western part of the city. The park features sprawling lawns, a Japanese plum garden, and a hiking course. The lookout point offers views of the Fuji River to the north, the Izu Peninsula from Suruga Bay to the south, the sacred Mt. Fuji and the peaks of the Southern Alps to the north. Since the park is well known for its cherry blossoms, festivals and other events are held during the blooming season.
