Located on the hill overlooking the city of Atami, the museum houses 65 national assets including the ”Tekagami” Kanbokujo, Red and White Japanese Apricot tree pictures on ”Byobu” screen, and tea pot with the picture of Japanese wisteria; and 45 other important art works; for a total of 3,500 pieces of paintings, calligraphy works, sculptures and chinaware. The museum is famous for its fine collection of art works. The museum also features the recreated gold tea ceremony room of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the restored residence of Ogata Korin.
